Contact with the clinic is mainly via telephone. We only email you with your explicit written consent.

Please contact the clinic by phone to make an appointment, ask a question or if you are running late.

We have various ways to share feedback or complaints including via email and anonymously if you choose.
Please refer to the feedback section on this page or in our BDAC Medical Clinic Brochure.

Follow Up and Reminders

We provide a reminder system for all patients. It's optional and you can opt out at any time by contacting Medical Reception.
We will recall patients for urgent matters

Appointments

Our appointments are by pre-arranged telephone booking.
You will be given preference of time and clinician where possible.
You may bring a support person.
When you arrive, please check in with Medical Reception and take a seat in our waiting area.
Standard appointments are 20 minutes; longer appointments are available as required.

Our practice uses locums and medical students from time to time.

If You're Running Late

If you can't make your appointment or if you're running late, please let us know as soon as possible. We may need to reschedule or ask you to wait when you arrive.
If you feel your matter is urgent, you may be asked to see our Practice Nurse or Aboriginal Health Practitioner.

Referrals and Repeat Prescriptions

Please make an appointment before you run out of medications or if you need a referral to a specialist.
All scripts require an appointment.
Unfortunately, lost or stolen scripts cannot be replaced.

Fees and Bulk Billing

We are a bulk billing clinic for those with a Medicare Card.

Some external services may charge fees such as x-ray, physiotherapy, pathology or other tests.
We will let you know if a referral is being made which may attract fees. It is recommended you contact the provider directly to confirm costs.

Messages

If your clinician is not available at the time of your call, a message will be taken, and your call returned as soon as possible.
Some of our clinical staff do not work every day, so your call may be taken by another clinical staff member.

Managing Your Information

We take privacy seriously. We only collect information that is required to provide effective care.

If you have a My Health Record, you can access records uploaded to this at any time.

We are required to keep our own records.

Your health information is held on a Patient Record. When a referral is needed, our system uses automated data to gather the necessary information to support the referral. A clinic staff member then reviews the information to make sure it is accurate.

You can request access to your records by contacting your GP. Your GP will talk to you through any exceptions where we are unable to release information.

For further information please refer to our BDAC Privacy Policy
